35CAPi5t
35CAPi5t is a 3 look capsule collection that I designed in my last quarter while attending FIDM. The theme of 35CAPi5t is quite literally escapism, but I want to share how I escape from reality for a brief moment. When confronted with past traumas and current ones, I find myself doing the same thing I've always done which was draw, play video games, or rewatch an anime for the nth time. 35CAPi5t is about escaping from traumas and reverting back to our old habits which is why I chose to reference games and anime that I grew up with into my concept and designs.
design process
Concept board
When putting my concept board together, I gathered references of the Windows 95 UI, Dance Dance Revolution, Shugo Chara, Elsword, Nintendo 3DS, and incorporated some of my personal art in the mix as well. Despite not being born in the era of Windows 95, I really liked the design of its UI and wanted incorporate it into my concept board.
Illustrations and Sketches
Here are my initial designs for 35CAPi5t. Due to time constraints of 10 weeks that were given to me to start and finish my collection, some of the details I initially wanted to add did not make it to the final design. Regardless, I still feel very satisfied with the final look that came to be!While designing 35CAPi5t I was in the middle of watching some old DDR videos, more specifically DoLL by TЁЯRA. Seeing Goli Matsumoto's character designs and the big mechas fighting really inspired me to base my designs off of mecha robots which led to me studying into Gundam kits. As I kept studying different Gundams and any type of media about mechas, I styled my seams and hems to mimic the structures of mecha suits by using pointed and square-like details. And of course since I'm in love with ruffles and lace I still wanted to incorporate those trims into my designs to make it feel nostalgic and fluffy like my favorite magical girls.
Flat Illustrations
I think this is pretty self-explanatory.
Pattern and Sewing
This was my attempt at taking pictures of my process, but here I share some of the few pictures I took during the pattern and sewing process as well as my first time dying fabrics. Hopefully I continue to get into the habit of taking pictures and videos of process.

Sketches
These of sketches are all assignments from my first sketching class at FIDM. My instructor had us study 9-head figures, basic anatomy, lighting, shadows, fabric drapery and movement. At first I feel like I struggled a bit when doing these sketches as I'm not used to realism, but these studies allowed me to better understand proper proportions and incorporate it into a more stylistic figure into my current works.
Illustrations
These illustrations are assigments from my second sketching class with a focus of doing full colored illustrations. We learned how to color different textures of fabrics using markers (copic and prismacolor). I was a bit intimidated to create full colored illustrations as I usually just leave my sketches in pencil or instead use colored pencils to finish the illustration. Despite that, I do believe I did make slight improvements at using colored markers and understanding how to execute different textures of fabrics using them. Also please don't mind the the quality of the pictures, I ended up losing these illustrations during moving so this is all I have left of them. :^(
Shroom Quest
This was an assignment where we had to gather images and edit them onto croquis to create different looks. I decided to design my looks inspired from mushrooms in a forest so I used images of red mushroom caps and hanging yarn that reminded me a lot of moss draped along trees.
These are the final designs that I came up with when I sketched over the croquis I edited. I wanted to take a character design approach with these looks hence the name "SHROOM QUEST".
Fragments
Fragments was a theme I was assigned to create illustrations based off of puzzle pieces. Above are my quick sketches I did of tops, bottoms, and jackets and we could only choose 3 pieces to create a full look. I decided to take a literal approach with the puzzle pieces and incorporate them into seams and hems. There are also a lot of detailing with loose threads connecting the pieces together which can be interpreted as the pieces coming together or separating from each other.
Here are the pieces I decided to choose out of the many quick sketches I did, along with a full illustration with the pieces put together.
Graffiti
Graffiti was a theme I was assigned to create illustrations based off of graffiti and tag art. Above are my quick sketches I did of tops, bottoms, and jackets and we could only choose 3 pieces to create a full look. During the process of sketching, rather than being inspired by the graffiti I was inspired by the people who do graffiti and tag art. I wanted to make my designs meant for people who I believe would create the graffiti, so I pulled inspiration from communities and subcultures such as hardstyle dancers and colorful decora-kei.
Here are the pieces I decided to choose out of the many quick sketches I did, along with an illustration of the full look.
Destination: Silent Hill
For this assignment we were told to design three dresses inspired from a destination. As someone who doesn't go outside a lot, instead of choosing a real place I decided to choose a fictional place from a video game: Silent Hill. While creating the concept sketches, I was really drawn into the eerie and mysterious atmosphere of Silent Hill 2 and the monsters that reside there (e.g. the nurses). I wanted to replicate the same eerie feeling as Silent Hill 2 in my designs so I added an ombre of red to resemble the dried blood on aged and tattered fabric, similar to what the monsters in the game would wear.
Lastly, here are the flat and fashion illustrations of the final three dresses I chose to design for this assignment.
Denim
For this assignment, we were told to create denim designs. Personally, I'm not a big fan of denim on denim as it doesn't suit me, but designing this was surprisingly really fun to do! I really liked the look of exposed frayed seams on blue denim, so I added that detail practically on almost every seam. As for my inspiration when doing my concept sketches, I imagined as if I was designing for K-pop groups such as LE SSERAFIM during ANTIFRAGILE era and ATEEZ during BOUNCY era.
Here are the full illustrations along with the flats. I decided to have a bit of fun when illustrating the designs and drew my original characters, Kindra and Aya, wearing my designs.
Designer
For this assignment, we were tasked to create designs in a scenario where we are asked to design for one of our favorite designer's collection. I chose to do Simone Rocha's SS23 collection because I really like the silhouettes she uses along with the many ruffle and strap details that really influence my personal design choices. While doing the concept sketches, I did my best to still include the details Rocha had in her collection while also respectfully incorporating some of my own colors into the collection.
Finally, here are my flats and my full illustrations with the each look together.
Architecture
For this assignment we were asked to create designs inspired from architecture, so I chose gothic architecture. I was really inspired by the window arches and the pointed details that was designed to reach the heavens. In my designs you will see plenty of arches with pointed details along with a cross charm that hang at each point possible.
Here are the final flats and illustrations of the designs I chose from my concept sketches.
Nature
This was my final for my class where we had to make designs inspired from nature. For this one, I chose to do decaying bodies or bone remnants that become one with a forest. In my designs I wanted to imitate the look of aged bones (ribs especially) and the overgrown greenery or moss that begin to grow over the bones.
Here are my flats and full illustrations of the looks all together.
Maundering Doll
Maundering Doll was an assignment where we designed a collection within the contemporary market. I chose to create designs that would be considered contemporary for its pricing, but is mainly targeted and meant for people who wear Lolita fashion (e.g. Moi-même-Moitié) or are within the Lolita community. As for what Maundering Doll is about, it is about embodying the visual of a ball jointed doll in a dreamlike manner. I execute this idea by using lacey ruffle trims and tea-cup skirts with occasional scallop details in my designs.

t3CH://1i3N
This is where I began to slowly develop my own personal style, aesthetic, and vision into my designs. This was the start and the birth of "t3CH://1i3N" which it's designs reflect on the person I am and have become from both past and present experiences. I consider t3CH://1i3N as my safe space of sharing my designs in a personal and vulnerable way of sharing my feelings.

35CAPi5t 2.0
For this assignment, we were tasked to create a brand of our own and design a 3 group collection. During this assignment I was also working on the 35CAPi5t capsule collection which is why they share the same title and theme of escapism. As for branding, I am continuing to go down the path of my vision for my future brand, t3CH://1i3N.
Sketchbook
Welcome to my sketchbook! These are all if not most of my personal drawings I've done on my free time. I would include some of my art from high school or middle school, but I will save myself the embarrassment...Anyways! I will probably organize my drawings into files by year as I add more over time, so please look forward to that! If anything new is added it will be said so at the home page. :3
